What A Skipped Year Actually Costs

A mini split head pulls room air through its filter and coil all day, so dirt builds up where you cannot see it.

  1. Dirty filters

    Cut the airflow, so the head loses output and the compressor works harder.

  2. A dirty coil or blower wheel

    Costs output first, and is the usual reason a head smells when it starts.

  3. A blocked drain

    Water dripping from the head onto the wall or the floor.

  4. Low refrigerant

    Means a leak. Found early it is a repair, found late it is a compressor.

  5. Warranty terms

    Most manufacturers expect yearly service. Skipping it can void the cover.

  6. Running cost

    A mini split that has not been cleaned uses more power for the same heating and cooling.
